Made to be kept.
Since 1987, from a workshop on a quiet Charleston street, two sisters have made furniture meant to be lived with — and left to the next generation. Not decorated. Inhabited.

Made by hand.
Made to last.
A single Ashley sofa passes through eleven hands and more than two hundred hours — joinery cut by hand, springs tied by hand, linen cut on the grain. We build slowly on purpose.
"We never set out to make a lot of furniture. We set out to make furniture worth keeping."
Florence trained as a cabinetmaker; Ivy, in textiles and interiors. In 1987 they took a lease on a Charleston carriage house and a single conviction — that a well-made piece of furniture is a quiet act of optimism about the future. Nearly four decades on, little has changed but the size of the workshop.
