Website Design + Launch
The situation
Rush Hour is a billiards bar, kitchen and games room at 960 US-9 in South Amboy, New Jersey, opening the week of 21 September 2026.
When the site was designed, the room did not exist yet. There were no photographs of a finished bar, no menu to publish, and no opening night for anyone to review. A business in that position still needs somewhere to send people — which makes the pre-opening site a design problem in its own right, not a placeholder.
What it has to do
The job before opening night
Three things, and deliberately nothing else.
Say where, and say when
The address and the opening date are the two facts a venue that has not opened is asked for most often, so they sit above everything else and repeat in the ticker along the bottom.
Describe a room nobody has seen
A 40-foot wood bar, fifteen tournament pool tables, ping pong, darts and a kitchen running to last call — stated plainly and counted out, because a photograph of the finished room does not exist yet.
Build the opening-night list
One call to action on the whole page: leave an email and hear the moment the tables open. Before a business has a door to walk through, a list of interested people is the only thing the site can actually bank.
After the doors open
What happens next
The countdown is temporary by design. The full site — pool and games, the menu, events, private hire, a gallery and the visit details — is designed and built behind it, ready to replace the launch page when the room is open and there is something real to photograph.
That order is the point. Publishing a full hospitality site months before a venue exists means filling it with pictures of somewhere else.
